Africa Dreaming - Safari time!

I have learned in life that when you look forward to something special with huge expectation, disappointment inevitably follows, because you have built up the event to something bigger than it can be.

I have anticipated this African safari for so long and with so much expectation, without once thinking to rein it in, that on reflection it was doomed. But not so - Africa has proved to be the proverbial exception to the rule, my expectations spectacularly surpassed. Two weeks of immersing my senses in the African savannah and its stunning diversity of wildlife has left itself indelibly etched into my heart and mind and soul.

I have spent a lifetime in anticipation... of course, it was over in a flash... but I'm replaying it in my mind every day, where I can enjoy it for the rest of my lifetime!
